Postpartum Depression

Postpartum depression – a very complex form of acute depression. Complexity is due to a combination of a great many of the processes occurring in women after childbirth. This hormonal changes, and self-awareness in a new status, that the lack of sleep and physical, relaxation and positive emotions, and much more. It should be noted that postpartum depression is not as common as you might expect.
The symptoms of postpartum depression should not be confused with the objective sensations associated with the period after the birth of a child – fatigue, appetite swings, etc. Symptoms of postpartum depression include the same and common manifestations characteristic of depression in general.

Women’s Depression

Women are prone to depression twice as much as men. However, this tendency is not immediate. Thus, in children both boys and girls the same chance of developing depression. However, from the time of puberty and hormonal changes in a woman’s body everything is changing dramatically.
Periods of hormonal changes experienced by women in their lives, are powerful stressors to the body and provoking factors for depression. Total are five of the most dangerous periods in the life of every woman: puberty, pregnancy, childbirth, menopause and perimenopause period. In addition to this destabilizing situation and monthly menstruation, causing the so-called PMS (premenstrual syndrome).
